Vince McMahon involved in traffic accident in Connecticut
Former WWE CEO Vince McMahon is in the spotlight after a traffic accident on a Connecticut highway. The incident, which involved his Bentley and two other vehicles, occurred last Thursday morning on the Merritt Parkway in Westport. According to the police report, McMahon was cited for reckless driving and following another vehicle too closely. Fortunately, there were no injuries in the accident. McMahon was released on a $500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on August 26. The accident occurred a few hours before the news of the death of Hulk Hogan, a wrestling legend, was announced. The photographs taken by Barbara Doran, one of the people involved in the accident, reveal significant damage to the front of McMahon’s 2024 Bentley Continental GT Speed, which was towed from the scene. The images also show damage to the rear of Doran’s BMW 430. The police report details that McMahon, who was driving north on the highway, rear-ended the BMW before hitting a wooden barrier. A vehicle traveling south hit the debris from the accident that jumped over the barrier. According to the police, there were no passengers in any of the vehicles and all three drivers were wearing seatbelts. McMahon’s car airbags deployed, while Doran’s did not.
Doran added that a state police officer informed him that the other driver was McMahon, whom he did not know very well. After the accident, they both talked.“I was in the right lane and, suddenly, boom!. I was hit from behind and I was thrown forward and you can see the tire marks where I was desperately trying to stay on the road,” Doran commented.

McMahon stepped down as WWE CEO in 2022, amid a company investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct. He also resigned as executive chairman of the board of directors of TKO Group Holdings, WWE’s parent company, last year, one day after a former WWE employee filed a sexual assault lawsuit against him. McMahon has denied the allegations. The lawsuit is still pending. McMahon bought the then World Wrestling Federation in 1982 and transformed it from a regional wrestling company into a global phenomenon. In addition to running the company with his wife, Linda, who is currently the United States Secretary of Education, he also performed at WWE events as himself.“She just, you know, expressed her concern, was glad I was okay and all that. And I thanked her for her concern,” said Doran, 72.
