Vince McMahon Involved in Car Accident in Connecticut
Former WWE CEO Vince McMahon was involved in a traffic accident on a Connecticut highway, an incident that occurred hours before the news of Hulk Hogan’s death was announced. McMahon was cited for reckless driving and following the vehicle in front too closely. The crash took place last Thursday morning on the Merritt Parkway in Westport, according to a state police report. Fortunately, there were no injuries. McMahon was released after posting a $500 bond and was ordered to appear in Stamford Superior Court on August 26. The photos taken by Barbara Doran, one of the people involved in the accident, showed significant damage to the front of McMahon’s 2024 Bentley Continental GT Speed, which was being towed in Westport. The images also revealed damage to the rear of Doran’s BMW 430. The police report indicates that McMahon was driving north on the highway, also known as Route 15, when he rear-ended the BMW and then hit a wooden barrier. A vehicle traveling in the southbound lanes struck debris from the accident that flew over the barrier, according to state police. There were no passengers in any of the vehicles and all three drivers were wearing seatbelts, according to police. McMahon’s car airbags deployed, but not Doran’s BMW, according to the police report.
Doran added that a state police officer informed him that the other driver was McMahon, whom he did not know well. After the accident, they both talked.I was in the right lane and, suddenly, boom! I was hit from behind and catapulted forward, and you can see the tire marks where I was desperately trying to stay on the road.

McMahon stepped down as WWE CEO in 2022, amid a company investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct. He also resigned as executive chairman of the TKO Group Holdings board of directors, WWE’s parent company, last year, a day after a former WWE employee filed a sexual assault lawsuit against him. McMahon has denied the allegations. The lawsuit is still pending. In 1982, McMahon acquired what was then the World Wrestling Federation and transformed it from a regional wrestling company into a global phenomenon. In addition to running the company with his wife, Linda, who is currently the U.S. Secretary of Education, he also participated in WWE events as himself. He just, you know, expressed his concern, was glad I was okay and all that. And I thanked him for his concern.
