Vince McMahon Involved in Car Accident in Connecticut

Former WWE CEO Vince McMahon is in the public spotlight following a traffic accident on a Connecticut highway. The incident, which involved his Bentley and two other vehicles, took place last Thursday morning on the Merritt Parkway in Westport. McMahon was cited for reckless driving and following too closely to the vehicle in front, according to the state police report. Fortunately, there were no injuries in the accident. He was released after posting a $500 bond and was ordered to appear in Stamford Superior Court on August 26. The accident occurred a few hours before the news of the death of Hulk Hogan, a wrestling legend, whom McMahon had previously praised, was announced.

A vehicle traveling south hit the wreckage that flew over the barrier. There were no passengers in any of the vehicles and all three drivers were wearing seatbelts. McMahon’s car airbags deployed, while those in the other driver’s BMW did not. Barbara Doran, one of the people involved in the accident, recounted that she was hit from behind and her car went off the road. After the accident, she spoke with McMahon, who expressed concern for her condition. McMahon stepped down as WWE CEO in 2022 amid an internal investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct. He also resigned as executive chairman of the board of directors of TKO Group Holdings, WWE’s parent company, last year. McMahon has denied the allegations.
