The wrestling world prepares for a special event. Real American Freestyle wrestling (RAF) joins World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) for an emotional tribute to the late Hulk Hogan, an iconic figure in the sport. The tribute will air during RAF’s inaugural event this Saturday. Hogan, remembered for catapulting the then World Wrestling Federation to fame in the 1980s, passed away on July 24th at the age of 71. The event, which will take place at the Wolstein Center in Cleveland, will be broadcast via FOX Nation. Months before his departure, Hogan shared his enthusiasm with The Associated Press about RAF, his new company co-founded with Chad Bronstein. Bronstein, also CEO of RAF, has assured that Hogan’s influence will remain fundamental to the company. The relationship between RAF and WWE is cordial. Real American Beer, the main sponsor of RAF, is 10% owned by WWE and was also co-founded by Bronstein.I was very proud. He has been a great friend, mentor, and partner. His voice will be significantly present, and this league will seek unique ways to incorporate it.

American Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle, one of WWE’s biggest stars in the early 2000s, will handle the commentary. Bronstein revealed that Hogan suggested Angle’s participation. In addition, former WWE manager Jimmy Hart and former world champion John Layfield will also participate in Saturday’s event. The main event will pit Wyatt Hendrickson against Mostafa Aly Elsayed Gabr Elders, from Egypt. Other men’s matches include: Bo Nickal vs. Jacob Cardenas; Yianni Diakomihalis vs. Bajrang Punia; Darrion Caldwell vs. Real Woods; and Austin Gomez vs. Lance Palmer. In the women’s category, the matches will be: Kennedy Blades vs. Alejandra Rivera and Sarah Hildebrandt vs. Zeltzin Hernandez. We don’t compete with them. They provide us with a lot of support. There is no competition because they are two totally different groups. The same goes for the UFC: we are not competition.
