The renowned professional wrestling commentator, Jim Ross, has been diagnosed with colon cancer. The news, announced by Ross himself, has generated a wave of support and concern in the wrestling community. Ross is widely known for his extensive career in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), where he worked from 1993 to 2013. His iconic phrases and storytelling style made him one of the most emblematic and beloved voices in the history of wrestling. His famous exclamation “My God!” or “By God!”, pronounced with his distinctive Oklahoma accent after shocking moments, is perhaps his most recognizable phrase. Other expressions, such as “He’s split in half!” and “That man has a family”, have become part of popular culture. Ross is a fervent follower and fan of the Oklahoma Sooners American football team, he has often been seen walking towards the ring with the school anthem, “Boomer Sooner”. Inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007, Ross has been part of All Elite Wrestling (AEW) since 2019.
