The renowned professional wrestling commentator, Jim Ross, has been diagnosed with colon cancer. At 73 years old, Ross announced via a social media post that he was diagnosed this week and will undergo surgery in the next two weeks.Ross is widely known for his outstanding career in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) from 1993 to 2013. His iconic phrases have transcended popular culture, solidifying him as one of the most beloved voices in wrestling history. His famous expression “My God” or “By God”, pronounced with his unmistakable Oklahoma accent after shocking moments, is perhaps his most emblematic phrase. Other memorable phrases like “He’s broken in half” and “That man has a family” are often used on social media. Ross is a fervent follower and promoter of the American football team Oklahoma Sooners, and has often walked to the ring with the school’s fight song, “Boomer Sooner”, playing in the background.
