Jim Ross, wrestling legend, faces battle against colon cancer
The renowned professional wrestling commentator, Jim Ross, has been diagnosed with colon cancer. The news was communicated by Ross himself, 73 years old, through his social media.
In his post, Ross reported that he was diagnosed this week and will undergo surgery in the next two weeks. “I appreciate your concern and support,” he expressed.
Jim Ross is widely recognized for his outstanding career in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), where he worked from 1993 to 2013. His iconic phrases have become ingrained in popular culture, solidifying him as one of the most emblematic voices in the history of wrestling.
The phrase “My God” or “By God”, pronounced with his Oklahoma accent after a shocking moment, is perhaps the most famous.

In addition to his commentary in professional wrestling, Ross is an avid fan and promoter of the Oklahoma Sooners football team, often accompanying his ring entrance with the theme “Boomer Sooner”.
Inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007, Ross has been part of All Elite Wrestling (AEW) since 2019.
AEW issued a statement expressing its support for Jim Ross in his fight against colon cancer. “All Elite Wrestling joins fans around the world in sending love and support to Jim Ross as he battles colon cancer. J.R. is a valued member of the AEW family, and we stand by him during his journey to recovery,” the organization stated.
