The Wrestling World Says Goodbye to Hulk Hogan

An emotional funeral ceremony bid farewell to wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, who passed away last month at the age of 71. The private event took place at the church where Hogan, whose real name was Terry Bollea, was baptized in 2023. The wrestler passed away after suffering a heart attack on July 24 at his Clearwater residence, according to the Pinellas County medical examiner. The report revealed that Hogan suffered from leukemia and atrial fibrillation, a heart condition. The cause of his death was listed as natural. The event’s security was reinforced by the church and the Largo police, including K-9 dogs. Only guests with authorized access were able to enter, as indicated by the signs that read “Private Event”. Former President Donald Trump shared an image on his Truth Social platform where he is seen arm wrestling with Hogan, with the message: “Today is the ‘Hulkster’s’ funeral, and I thought everyone would like to see this photo.” Governor Ron DeSantis ordered flags to be flown at half-staff at all official buildings last Friday, proclaiming that day as “Hulk Hogan Day in Florida.” Hogan, an iconic figure in WWE history, was famous for both his charisma and his achievements in the ring. He was the main star of the first WrestleMania in 1985 and a fixture for years, facing legends like André the Giant, Randy Savage, The Rock, and even WWE co-founder Vince McMahon. Hogan transcended the world of wrestling, participating in numerous films and television shows, including “Hogan Knows Best”, a reality show that showed his life on VH1. Hogan’s remains will be cremated. His daughter, Brooke Bollea Oleksy, known as Brooke Hogan, honored her father’s memory through a social media post.

“I am very grateful to have met the real version of him. Not just the one the world saw through a carefully selected lens,” she wrote on Instagram.
