Los Angeles Sparks Announce Training Facility Megaproject

Los Angeles Sparks have unveiled their plans to build an impressive training facility valued at $150 million. This center, which will span 55,000 square feet, is scheduled to open its doors in El Segundo, California, in 2027. This project represents the largest investment to date by a single team in the history of women’s sports, a significant milestone for the franchise.

We are building a place where Sparks players can give their best, both on and off the court. From state-of-the-art training and recovery spaces to family and community areas, every corner of this facility was designed with them in mind.

The Sparks’ facility will feature a “player sanctuary” with a pool and rest areas, two regulation basketball courts, a circular locker room, a gym, and training areas.

The initiative to build new training facilities is the latest sign of progress in the WNBA. Teams like the Las Vegas Aces, Phoenix Mercury, and Seattle Storm have already built dedicated training centers in recent years. The Sparks’ new facility represents a significant investment for the franchise, which had historically lagged behind in providing resources for its players. The new center, which will house what has been called the first indoor-outdoor “sanctuary for players” of the WNBA, will feature an outdoor spa pool, rest rooms and wellness spaces, two regulation courts, a circular locker room and a state-of-the-art gym with training areas.
