The WNBA responded to an accusation about an assistant coach of the Seattle Storm, who allegedly hurled insults at a Las Vegas Aces player, after Sunday’s game in Seattle, according to a league source with knowledge of the matter. However, the source indicated that there is no ongoing investigation against the Storm team.

The source did not reveal who made the accusation or to whom it was directed. The Aces defeated the Storm with a score of 75-70 at the Climate Pledge Arena. This was the second encounter of the season between both teams, with the Storm winning the first game 102-82 on May 25 in Seattle. After last season, long-time Storm player Jewell Loyd filed a complaint against Seattle’s coaching staff, according to sources. She subsequently requested a trade and was sent to Las Vegas in a three-team deal on February 1st. The Storm hired a law firm to investigate allegations of harassment and bullying by the team’s coaches in relation to the players’ performance. The conclusion of that investigation, announced in December, found no violations.

I think the organization did the right thing. Throughout this whole process, the level of communication was tremendously high. I felt supported in many ways and I know my team felt supported as well. With something like this, it’s important to take the right steps and our organization did.
