Dallas Wings Secure First Pick in WNBA Draft: Is Azzi Fudd in Sight?

The Dallas Wings once again have the first pick in the WNBA draft. League history suggests that having two consecutive top picks is a huge boost for any franchise. Sunday’s draft brought no surprises, with the top five teams maintaining their positions according to the odds.

In a pre-draft mock, Awa Fam, a young Spanish pivot, was projected as number one. Although she remains a strong candidate to join the Wings, attention is now focused on Azzi Fudd, the UConn guard, after her outstanding performance at the Hall of Fame Women’s Showcase.

This year’s WNBA draft promises to be exciting, with the possibility of Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd, both elite players, forming a playing duo that could take the Wings back to the playoffs. Bueckers and Fudd have proven to be very good teammates, leading the Huskies to a national championship.
