The 2025 WNBA regular season is coming to an end, and the excitement of the playoffs is in the air. Eight teams will compete for the championship, and the competition intensifies as the postseason begins on September 14th. Below is a summary of the qualified teams and what they have achieved so far.
The regular season will conclude on September 11. We already know that the Connecticut Sun, Dallas Wings, and Chicago Sky teams have been eliminated from the playoff race.

Las Vegas Aces
The Aces had a complicated start to the season, but they managed to recover impressively. After a losing streak and an irregular performance, the team found its rhythm.
After suffering a crushing defeat at home against Minnesota, the Aces went on an 11-game winning streak, securing their playoff spot and positioning themselves to host in the first round.
Key Statistic: A’ja Wilson has been fundamental, scoring at least 30 points in five of the 11 consecutive wins. On August 10, Wilson made history by becoming the first WNBA player to achieve a 30-point, 20-rebound game.

Minnesota Lynx
Led by Napheesa Collier, considered the favorite for the MVP award for much of the season, the Lynx have dominated the league. They started the season with nine consecutive wins and won 17 of their first 19 games.
On August 12, the Lynx became the first team to secure a playoff spot.
Key Statistic: During the first three months of the regular season, the Lynx did not suffer consecutive losses, a streak that recently ended. Although Collier was absent due to an ankle injury, Minnesota achieved a 5-2 record during that period.
