Dallas Wings Struggle with Player Shortage and Fall to Dream
The Dallas Wings were in need of emergency reinforcements to be able to complete their roster and face the Atlanta Dream on Friday night. Despite the Wings’ fight, they couldn’t overcome the Dream, falling with a score of 100-78. To meet the minimum of eight players required by the league, Dallas signed Christyn Williams and extended a seven-day contract to Amy Okonkwo.The Wings were able to sign players under the hardship exception, as they had less than the required minimum due to injuries, illnesses, or other mitigating circumstances affecting their roster.We didn’t know if we were going to have enough players to play tonight.
