Vinyl Secures Playoff Spot in Unrivaled

In an exciting night of basketball, Vinyl defeated the Lunar Owls with a score of 75-68, sealing their place in the Unrivaled playoffs. This triumph completes the six-team lineup that will compete for the championship.

“They knew what was at stake. I told them, ‘There is no tomorrow.’ You can’t think, ‘I have a game tomorrow,’ because there is no game tomorrow. It’s now. They were in the moment,” commented Teresa Weatherspoon, coach of Vinyl.

Vinyl BC became the last team to secure their place in the postseason, joining Phantom, Laces, Mist, Breeze, and Rose, who had already guaranteed their participation. Rae Burrell’s outstanding performance was key to Vinyl’s victory, recording her first 30-point game in Unrivaled. Just two nights before, she had achieved her personal best score with 24 points.

“It was a very important game. We knew we wanted to make the playoffs and (Weatherspoon) told us today… We’re not thinking about any other scenario if we lose. No. We’re just going to win. I knew I had to come in with that aggressive mentality,” Burrell stated.

The qualifying phase for the playoffs will be defined next week, during the last day of the regular season. Phantom leads the table, with a two-game lead over Laces, while Mist is only half a game behind Laces. Breeze, currently in fourth place, has a slight advantage over Rose, who is in fifth place. Vinyl is two games behind, in sixth position. The playoffs will consist of three rounds of direct elimination. The team that obtains first place will advance directly to the semifinals. The semifinals will be held at the Barclays Center in New York on March 2, instead of the league’s usual venue in Miami. The decision to move the playoff games is due to the success achieved by Unrivaled in January during the event in Philadelphia. The championship match will be played on March 4th at the Sephora Arena in Miami. The prize for the players who win the title is $600,000.
