Mist Crowned Champion in Unrivaled Season 2
The second season of Unrivaled has come to an end, with the Mist team being crowned champions and Breanna Stewart awarded as the Finals MVP.
The match between Mist and Phantom became the third most-watched game in league history. However, the overall viewership experienced a decrease compared to the inaugural season.
The final game, where Mist defeated Phantom with a score of 80-74 on Wednesday, drew an average of 314,000 viewers on TNT and TruTV, peaking at 335,000 between 9:45 and 10 p.m. ET, during the first quarter.
This figure represents a 14% drop compared to 2025, when the average audience was 364,000 viewers, in the match where Rose defeated Vinyl.
The total playoff audience decreased by 9% in 2026, averaging 258,000 viewers on TNT and TruTV, compared to 284,000 the previous year. Unrivaled has faced audience challenges since the opening weekend in January.
The first Unrivaled games on January 5th recorded an average of 175,000 viewers on TNT and TruTV. Two additional games, broadcast only on TruTV, averaged 32,000 viewers.
The league attributed the decrease in viewership to competition with the college football playoffs, the NFL playoffs, and the 2026 Olympics, expressing confidence that its games would attract more viewers once these events are over.
Unrivaled also highlighted other metrics to measure the success of the 3-on-3 league, including ticket sales, merchandise sales, and social media interaction.
The league sold out the tickets for the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia during the first stop of the Unrivaled tour. The attendance of 21,490 fans set a record for a regular season professional women’s basketball game and for any event in the history of the venue. The audience grew by 35% after the two games in Philadelphia.
Unrivaled took their show to the semifinals, which were played at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, in front of another sold-out crowd (18,261).
The semifinal games averaged 213,000 viewers on television.
