Breanna Stewart Exits Game Due to Leg Injury

New York Liberty star Breanna Stewart left Saturday night’s game against the Los Angeles Sparks due to a lower leg injury. Stewart was only able to play three minutes before leaving the game, in which he scored three points and got a rebound. The injury seemed to occur while running across the court. Afterwards, he went to the locker room and did not return to the bench.

No news, let’s hope she’s doing well.

The loss to the Sparks (101-99) interrupted a five-game winning streak for the team. The game on Saturday was the second of a back-to-back for New York. In Friday’s victory over Phoenix, Stewart had a low-scoring game, scoring only six. However, he managed eight rebounds, five assists, two blocks, and two steals. Before the game, Stewart was averaging 19 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per season, contributing to New York (17-7) having the second-best record in the WNBA. The two-time MVP hadn’t missed a game this season. After playing much of July at home, New York will play five of its next six games on the road. In addition to Stewart’s injury, New York had two other players with physical problems. Kennedy Burke suffered cramps and Leonie Fiebich has been dealing with a hand injury she suffered against Phoenix.

It’s tough and resilient, she overcame it.
