Maddy Siegrist Returns to Action with the Dallas Wings
Maddy Siegrist is ready to rejoin the Dallas Wings after being off the court for seven weeks due to a fracture in her right knee.
The news was confirmed by the team on Thursday, indicating that Siegrist will be available for Friday night’s game against the Indiana Fever.
This matchup will mark the second time the Wings will play at the American Airlines Center, home of the Dallas Mavericks. Previously, they faced the Fever there in late June, losing 94-86. In that game, Caitlin Clark was unable to play due to a groin injury. Clark has since recovered, but has missed Indiana’s last five games due to the same injury.
Siegrist, who led the NCAA Division I scoring ahead of Clark when playing for Villanova in 2022-23, has missed the last 17 games due to his knee injury. Injuries limited his participation to 11 games in his freshman season two years ago.
In the 11 games he has played this season, Siegrist has averaged 9.4 points and 5.2 rebounds. His only double-double of the season, with 15 points and 11 rebounds, he achieved in the game prior to his injury, an 81-65 loss to Minnesota on June 8.
