Chicago Sky player Angel Reese joins the growing list of high-profile figures in the WNBA expressing their frustration with the league’s officiating. After her team’s loss to the Minnesota Lynx, Reese held nothing back and openly criticized the officials.
Reese’s comments came after a game in which the Sky only attempted eight free throws, compared to the Lynx’s 17. Reese recounted a conversation with the referees, where he expressed his bewilderment at the scarcity of free throws awarded to his team. It’s frustrating because I know how hard we fight inside. I know we can compete with the best, but the officiating has to be fixed. Reese’s criticism extended to the X platform, where she continued to express her discontent. The player is not the only one to express her discontent with the refereeing in the WNBA. Recently, Indiana Fever coach Stephanie White and Los Angeles Sparks player Kelsey Plum also criticized the league’s referees. Plum, after an overtime loss, lamented the lack of fouls called in their favor. This has to be fixed. I’m tired of this shit.

White, for his part, held the officers responsible for the loss of control in a Commissioner’s Cup match.I drive more than anyone in the league, so shooting six free throws is absurd.
