Challenges and Preparations
Phantom, despite being the leading team in the regular season, faced significant challenges. Aliyah Boston, the league’s Defensive Player of the Year, was ruled out for the rest of the playoffs due to an injury. Aziaha James and Makayla Timpson joined the team to strengthen it at this crucial stage. In addition, the Phantom has been without Satou Sabally, who suffered an injury during the WNBA Finals, and without Dana Evans, who was only able to play one game. Mist also had to overcome difficulties, starting the game with a 26-10 disadvantage in the first quarter. However, Stewart’s inspiration drove the team to a spectacular comeback. Both Phantom and Mist failed to qualify for the playoffs in 2025. This season, Phantom has demonstrated their dominance with a nine-game winning streak, leading the series against Mist with a score of 2-0.
