Lynx’s Napheesa Collier Out With Ankle Injury
Minnesota Lynx forward Napheesa Collier will be out for at least two weeks due to a right ankle sprain, according to sources. The injury occurred during the third quarter of the game against the Las Vegas Aces, in which the Lynx achieved a resounding victory with a score of 111-58. Collier suffered the injury with less than a minute left in the third quarter, after falling incorrectly after trying to capture an offensive rebound. At that moment, Minnesota was already leading by 43 points. After remaining on the ground for several minutes, visibly affected, Collier was able to leave the court with help. Her teammate, Kayla McBride, reported that Collier was “in good spirits”.Collier underwent imaging tests on Sunday and Monday, which revealed that she did not suffer a serious injury. She will be reevaluated in two weeks, ruling her out for at least four games, including two against the New York Liberty. Currently, Collier is the leading MVP candidate, averaging 23.8 points and 7.7 rebounds per game, leading the league in both categories. Her injury occurs at a time when the Lynx have a six-game lead over the Liberty in the standings.Obviously, it’s unfortunate to see someone get injured, especially your MVP. We wish him the best and hope he recovers soon.
