The Las Vegas Aces look to consolidate their dominance in the WNBA

The Las Vegas Aces, led by A’ja Wilson, secured their third WNBA title in four seasons, culminating in a sweep over the Phoenix Mercury in the 2025 Finals. However, sportsbooks are already anticipating the 2026 season and pointing to a new contender with MVP potential. The Minnesota Lynx emerges as the favorite to win the WNBA championship in 2026, with odds of +225 on ESPN BET. Other betting sites also favor the team led by Napheesa Collier, although with higher odds, reaching up to +350 on FanDuel.

Not all major sportsbooks see Minnesota, which fell to Phoenix in the 2025 semifinals, dethroning Las Vegas next season. BetMGM has the Aces as favorites for the 2026 title with +300, while the Lynx is positioned with the third-best odds at +400. Las Vegas, at least, remains in second place in most sportsbooks.

In the favorites list are also the Indiana Fever, who share second place with the Aces (+250) on ESPN BET. Indiana had an unexpected run to the WNBA semifinals, managing to challenge Las Vegas in five games, despite key injuries to Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham, among others. The New York Liberty, WNBA champions in 2024, are also in the mix of favorites, but the odds vary considerably among bookmakers, ranging from +330 to +700. The highest odds on the list correspond to the expansion teams Portland Fire and Toronto Tempo, both with odds of 250-1 for the 2026 title on ESPN BET. Although expecting a championship from these franchises in their first WNBA seasons might be ambitious, the performance of the Golden State Valkyries (+6000) demonstrated the potential value of betting on expansion teams. The Valkyries surpassed their preseason win total of 8.5 before the midpoint of their inaugural season and made the playoffs despite preseason odds of +1300.
