Breanna Stewart, New York Liberty star, misses her first game due to injury

The New York Liberty’s star player, Breanna Stewart, was absent from her first game of the season due to a leg injury. The news was confirmed before Monday’s game against the Dallas Wings.

Stewart left the game against the Los Angeles Sparks on Saturday, a little over three minutes into the match. At that moment, the player had scored three points and gotten a rebound. The injury seems to have occurred while Stewart was running on the court. Afterwards, she went to the locker room and did not return to the bench.

According to reports, Stewart underwent imaging tests, but no serious injury was detected.

So far this season, Stewart is averaging 18.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.9 assists, contributing to the good performance of the New York (17-8), who hold the second-best record in the league.

Without her presence, the Liberty fell to the Wings on Monday, with a final score of 92-82.
