Center Li Yueru has requested a trade from the Seattle Storm, according to a source familiar with the situation. The player is seeking more playing opportunities in the WNBA.
Li, who is 6 feet 7 inches tall, was drafted in 2019 by Atlanta, but did not debut in the league until 2022 with Chicago, where she played 16 games.Last season, Li played for the Los Angeles Sparks, participating in 38 games and averaging 5.1 points and 3.7 rebounds. In February, she was traded to Seattle.
In eight games with the Storm, she has averaged 2.9 points and 1.6 rebounds in 9.1 minutes.
Li, 26, is a key player in the Chinese national team. At last year’s Paris Olympics, he led China in scoring (17.7) and rebounding (11.0).
