The Las Vegas Aces extended their winning streak to 13 consecutive games, setting a new franchise record. The victory came on Thursday night against the Minnesota Lynx, with a final score of 97-87 at the T-Mobile Center in Las Vegas. With a record of 27-14, the Aces are tied for second place with the Atlanta Dream and the Phoenix Mercury. However, based on regular season results, the Aces have the tiebreaker advantage against both teams. Minnesota, with a 32-9 record, has already secured the top spot and home-court advantage throughout the playoffs. The Aces’ goal is to secure second place, which would allow them to avoid the Lynx until a possible WNBA final. Las Vegas had lost their previous three encounters against the Lynx, including a 111-58 defeat on August 2, which brought them to a 14-14 record. That game marked a turning point for the Aces, as they haven’t lost since then.

Las Vegas coach Becky Hammon knew her team could go on a good run if they could fit the pieces together. Currently, Las Vegas has the longest winning streak in the WNBA since the Connecticut Sun won 14 straight games in 2021.

Jackie Young scored 20 points for Las Vegas, while Gray added 13 points and 10 assists. Wilson is making a strong campaign for her fourth MVP award. The other main contenders are Napheesa Collier of Minnesota and Alyssa Thomas of Phoenix.
