Indiana Fever extends winning streak to five games
The Indiana Fever secured a crucial victory against the Seattle Storm with a score of 78-74, extending their winning streak to five games. This streak equals the team’s longest since August 2015, during Stephanie White’s previous tenure as coach. The Fever also achieved five consecutive victories last August and September, although that streak was led by All-Star guard Caitlin Clark. This time, the streak has been achieved without Clark, who has been absent for the last seven games due to a groin injury.Despite having a 12-point lead midway through the final quarter, Indiana withstood a Seattle surge that cut the deficit to one point, thanks to a three-point play by Skylar Diggins with 2:14 remaining.
I also think it shows the growth we’ve had as a team because at the beginning of the season we were very inconsistent, and if teams had done that, we would normally lose those games. It just shows that we are getting closer, we trust each other, I think that’s the most important part: to trust and know that we can win those games even if they have streaks.

The Storm had several opportunities to tie the score. In the last minute of the last quarter, Seattle missed five three-point shots that could have tied the score, culminating with Gabby Williams’ attempt that didn’t go in the last five seconds. Aliyah Boston, who achieved her sixth consecutive double-double (16 points, 12 rebounds), secured the rebound to end the threat. For the Storm, Sunday was the second weekend loss decided in the final seconds. On Friday, Seattle lost to the Los Angeles Sparks at home in double overtime when Diggins missed in the last second. The results placed the Storm in sixth place in the WNBA standings, one game behind Indiana.I am proud of our group for how we stayed, not only together, because we always stay together, but how we stood firm and went to the next play. We made great plays at key moments that allowed us to win the game.

I am very proud of our group, after having had a difficult game on Friday and having reacted to put ourselves in a winning position. I think we executed very well in finding the looks we wanted. For us, we don’t want to just have moral victories around those particular things.
