Man arrested for throwing inappropriate object at WNBA game

College Park, Georgia police reported that Delbert Carver was arrested on Saturday for allegedly throwing a sex object onto the court during last Tuesday’s game between the Atlanta Dream and the Golden State Valkyries at the Gateway Center Arena. Carver, 23, faces charges of disorderly conduct, indecent exposure, and trespassing, according to police records. Jail records indicate he was booked into the Clayton County Jail at 7:42 p.m. He was released Sunday night on an undisclosed bond, according to police records. The next court appearance date for Carver has not yet been set, and the Clayton County court website indicates that the case status is “pending”. The WNBA announced on Saturday that an arrest had been made in connection with the incident.

The safety and well-being of everyone in our stadiums is a priority for our league. Objects of any kind thrown onto the court or seating area can pose a risk to the safety of players, referees, and fans.

The league also stated that, in accordance with WNBA Stadium Security Regulations, any fan who intentionally throws an object onto the court will be immediately ejected and face a minimum one-year ban, in addition to being subject to arrest and prosecution by local authorities.

A second sex toy was thrown onto the court on Friday during the third quarter of the Valkyries’ game against the Chicago Sky. When asked if an arrest had been made or a report had been filed regarding the Sky-Valkyries incident, Chicago police responded via email on Monday “we do not see a service call for that incident”.
