Naz Hillmon of the Atlanta Dream Wins WNBA Sixth Player of the Year Award

Atlanta Dream forward Naz Hillmon has been awarded the WNBA Sixth Player of the Year. This achievement marks a milestone for the franchise, as Hillmon becomes the first player in team history to receive this prestigious recognition.

During the season, Hillmon averaged 8.6 points and 6.2 rebounds per game with the Dream. In addition, she demonstrated her ability from the three-point line, making 53 three-pointers, a significant improvement compared to her performance in the previous three WNBA seasons, where she only made one three-pointer.

In 27 of the 44 games played, Hillmon came off the bench. Her consistency and dedication led her to set a franchise record by participating in 150 consecutive games.

Coming from the University of Michigan, Hillmon also stood out in the league for his efficiency, ranking second in plus-minus, with an average of +7.6 per game. His contribution was key for Atlanta to obtain third place in the standings and achieve a record of 30 victories in its number 17 season.

It should be noted that Hillmon had already been recognized with the AP award for Sixth Woman of the Year earlier this month.
