Caitlin Clark Misses Second Game Due to Injury

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark will miss her second straight game due to a left groin injury, preventing her participation in a highly anticipated matchup between the last two WNBA draft number one picks. The team announced on Friday that Clark would not play against the Dallas Wings and rookie Paige Bueckers. Clark also missed Thursday night’s game, an 85-75 loss to the Los Angeles Sparks. Clark hadn’t missed a game in college or in her first year in the WNBA. However, she recently returned from a left quadriceps injury that kept her out for five games, during which Indiana had a 2-3 record. Fever coach Stephanie White commented on Thursday that she learned of Clark’s latest injury late Wednesday night, after the medical staff performed an MRI on her. White indicated that she considered it “very likely to be day-to-day… depending on how she responded to treatment”. After Friday’s game in Dallas, Indiana will rest until Tuesday, when they will play the Commissioner’s Cup championship against the Minnesota Lynx.
