Chicago will host the WNBA All-Star Game in 2026

The city of Chicago is preparing to host the WNBA All-Star Game in 2026, the league announced on Thursday. The event will take place at the United Center on Saturday, July 25th. This will be the second time Chicago hosts the game. The first was in 2022, but on that occasion the venue was the Wintrust Arena, the main headquarters of the local team, the Chicago Sky. The United Center, home to the NBA’s Bulls and the NHL’s Blackhawks, has a much larger capacity, with around 20,900 seats for basketball games, compared to the 10,380 of the Wintrust Arena. However, Wintrust Arena will still be involved in the All-Star festivities, as it will be the venue for the three-point contest and skills challenge on July 24. WNBA Live, the interactive festival for the league’s fans, will be held at McCormick Place in Chicago during All-Star weekend.

“The WNBA is thrilled to bring the AT&T WNBA All-Star back to Chicago, which will undoubtedly provide unforgettable competition and community outreach,” stated Commissioner Cathy Engelbert.

It will be the second consecutive All-Star Game in the Midwest region for the WNBA.

“The Chicago Sky is excited to welcome the 2026 WNBA All-Star game back to Chicago,” said Sky CEO and President Adam Fox. “We are eager to build on the success of the previous All-Star game and celebrate the explosive growth of the league by showcasing the biggest stars in the WNBA on a world-class stage.”
