Chicago will host the WNBA All-Star Game in 2026

The city of Chicago will be the setting for the WNBA All-Star Game in 2026, the league announced on Thursday. The event will take place at the United Center on Saturday, July 25th. This will be the second time Chicago hosts this important meeting. The first time was in 2022, although on that occasion it was held at the Wintrust Arena, the home of the Chicago Sky of the WNBA. The United Center, home to the NBA’s Bulls and the NHL’s Blackhawks, offers a larger capacity, with around 20,900 seats for basketball, compared to approximately 10,380 at the Wintrust Arena. Despite this, Wintrust Arena will continue to participate in the All-Star festivities, being the venue for the WNBA Three-Point Contest and Skills Challenge, on Friday, July 24. In addition, WNBA Live, the interactive festival for the league’s fans, will be held at McCormick Place in Chicago during the All-Star weekend.

“The WNBA is thrilled to bring the AT&T WNBA All-Star back to Chicago, which will undoubtedly offer unforgettable competition and community activities,” said WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert in a statement. “Together with the Chicago Sky, we look forward to celebrating the brightest stars of the game, engaging WNBA fans from around the world, and showcasing the energy of one of the most iconic basketball cities.”

This will be the WNBA’s second consecutive All-Star Game in the Midwest region; Indiana hosted the event for the first time this year.

“The Chicago Sky are thrilled to welcome the 2026 WNBA All-Star game back to Chicago,” said Sky CEO and President Adam Fox. “We are looking forward to building on the success of the previous All-Star game and celebrating the explosive growth of the league by showcasing the WNBA’s biggest stars on a world-class stage.”
