Caitlin Clark will miss the game against the Atlanta Dream
Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark will be unavailable for Tuesday’s game against the Atlanta Dream, coach Stephanie White told the media.
This will be the fifth consecutive time that Clark will be absent due to a quadriceps strain suffered on May 24 against the New York Liberty. The team initially announced on May 26 that he would be out for at least two weeks.
Last Thursday, Clark mentioned that, after a reevaluation over the weekend, she might return for Tuesday’s game, but that she wouldn’t force her return. White indicated on Monday that Clark is “ready to start increasing the intensity” and has been cleared to participate in part of the training sessions.
Let’s be smart, cautious, and think long-term, reintegrating it very intentionally.

Sophie Cunningham’s situation is similar, as she has only played four games this season due to an ankle injury that worsened at the end of May. White also confirmed that Cunningham had limitations in Monday’s training.
After facing Atlanta on Tuesday, the Fever will not play until Saturday, when they will host the Liberty, which will give them time to assess the progress of Clark and Cunningham.
White added that, after the long absence of both players, a gradual process is necessary for them to be ready to compete.I think we have to reincorporate Clark and Sophie… Are they in shape to play basketball? It’s one thing to do shooting drills, it’s another to get out on the court and regain the movements, rhythm, and timing. We are selecting the things they can participate in during training to see their progress.
