Cameron Brink Ready to Debut with the Sparks

The player selected at number 2 in the 2024 WNBA draft, Cameron Brink, is set to make her season debut with the Los Angeles Sparks this Tuesday, marking her return after an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in her left knee. The news was confirmed by Brink and Sparks coach Lynne Roberts during a press conference on Monday, as the team prepares for Tuesday’s matchup against the Las Vegas Aces, who are on a five-game winning streak, the best in the league.

Brink, national champion in 2021 with Stanford, had been cleared to return and was working to be ready for the games.

Statements to the media
Brink, a 6-foot-4 forward, averaged 7.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per game before suffering the injury on June 18, 2024, during her rookie season. In addition to missing the remainder of the WNBA season, she also had to miss the 2024 Paris Olympics, despite having been selected for the U.S. 3×3 basketball team. The Sparks finished last season with an 8-32 record and are currently in tenth place in the standings. However, thanks to their recent winning streak, they are one game away from a playoff spot.
