Her teammate, Jackie Young, also praised Wilson for her consistent performance. It’s huge. I didn’t know that, with so many great players in this league, this was happening for the first time. It’s a blessing. I love what I do. I love it so much, so whenever I can go out and play basketball the way I like, and the team, and we all get involved, I’m happy with that.

This season, Wilson became the fastest and second-youngest player to reach 5,000 career points. In addition, she leads the league in 30-point games since her arrival in 2018. Wilson, who turned 29 on Friday, commented on this achievement. She shows up every night, and I think that’s why she’s so good at what she does. She’s a very hard worker, so it’s great to see her hard work pay off. At the same time, they’re sending her double and triple teams, and she has to navigate and play out of that. She’s still able to put up incredible numbers every night.

It’s great to have my name in the record books when it comes to that. I’m sure there will be many more. So yes, it’s great to be the first.
