A’ja Wilson Out with Wrist Injury

Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson has been ruled out for Thursday’s game against the Washington Mystics due to a right wrist injury. Wilson, three-time WNBA MVP, suffered the injury on Tuesday. After undergoing an MRI on Wednesday morning, she was initially considered doubtful, but was ultimately ruled out on Thursday morning. Before Tuesday, Wilson was averaging 21.9 points and nine rebounds per game. She had already missed three games this season due to a concussion protocol, with a 2-1 record for the Aces in that period. The injury occurred six minutes into the second quarter when Wilson fell on his right arm and wrist after attempting a layup. He remained on the court for a few minutes, but was able to get up on his own. Wilson continued playing for the next possessions before retiring to the locker room. She was ruled out during halftime.
