Las Vegas Aces Celebrate Their Third Championship with an Epic Parade

Las Vegas dressed up to celebrate the Aces’ third championship in four years, marking a milestone in the history of women’s basketball. The parade, held on Friday night, commemorated eight years since the WNBA and the NBA Board of Governors confirmed the relocation of the San Antonio Stars to Las Vegas.

We’re back!

Mark Davis, owner of the Aces
The parade, led by low-rider cars and five double-decker buses, went down the famous Las Vegas Strip. Thousands of fans, gathered hours before, witnessed the celebration, demonstrating their passion for the team. The Aces, after a season start with ups and downs, managed to overcome challenging playoff series and swept the Phoenix Mercury in the WNBA finals. The celebration, which drew fans of all ages and important personalities, was the fourth professional championship since 2022 for the city, including three by the Aces and the Golden Knights’ victory in the NHL Stanley Cup in 2023.

We should do it again next year.

Becky Hammon, Aces coach
Coach Becky Hammon, who completed her fourth season with the team, highlighted the team’s resilience and character. Following the departure of key players, the Aces incorporated new faces and, after a period of adaptation, strung together 16 consecutive victories to secure second place in the playoffs.

This is a special group; we pray together and toast with champagne together.

A’ja Wilson, MVP
A’ja Wilson, four-time MVP, expressed her excitement when talking about Hammon’s dedication to each player, highlighting the support received from the coach. NaLyssa Smith, who joined the team mid-season, thanked her teammates for changing her life. Jackie Young, a key player in the three championships, summed up the team’s ambition with a forceful phrase: “This is not over.” The celebration culminated with confetti, fireworks, and the iconic song “We Are The Champions” by Queen. The musical performances by Crime Mob, Ludacris, and Mya enlivened the party.

Now it’s a parade.
