Las Vegas Aces Celebrate Their Third Championship with an Epic Parade

Las Vegas dressed up to celebrate the Aces’ third championship in four years, marking a milestone in the history of women’s basketball. The parade, held Friday night, commemorated eight years since the WNBA and the NBA Board of Governors confirmed the relocation of the San Antonio Stars to Las Vegas.

We’re back!

Mark Davis, owner of the Aces
The parade, led by classic low-rider cars showcasing their hydraulic systems, went down the famous Las Vegas Strip. Five double-decker buses transported the Aces, who threw streamers and confetti at an enthusiastic crowd that gathered hours before the start of the event. The Aces, after a season start with a 14-14 record, overcame challenging playoff series before sweeping the Phoenix Mercury in the WNBA Finals. The celebration drew a diverse crowd, from children to seniors and political dignitaries. Toshiba Plaza was filled to celebrate the fourth professional championship since 2022, with the Aces winning three and the NHL’s Golden Knights winning the Stanley Cup in 2023.

We should do it again next year.

Becky Hammon, Aces coach
Coach Becky Hammon, who completed her fourth season with the Aces, highlighted that this year’s team was the easiest to coach, praising their resilience and character.

Following the loss of key players from previous championships, the Aces welcomed new talents and needed almost three months to consolidate. They achieved 16 consecutive victories to finish the regular season and secure the second place in the playoffs.

This is a special group, we pray together and toast with champagne.

A’ja Wilson, four-time MVP
A’ja Wilson, visibly emotional, highlighted Hammon’s dedication to each player. NaLyssa Smith, who joined the team mid-season, expressed how her teammates changed her life. Jackie Young, an integral part of the three championships, concluded with a promise: “We’re not done yet.” The celebration culminated with confetti, fireworks, and the iconic song “We Are The Champions” by Queen. Live musical performances by Crime Mob, Ludacris, and Mya enlivened the festivities.

Now it’s a parade.

Jewell Loyd, three-time WNBA champion
The emotion and joy overflowed in the streets of Las Vegas, solidifying the Aces’ triumph and the team’s unity.
