Chicago will host the WNBA All-Star Game in 2026

The city of Chicago is preparing to host the WNBA All-Star Game in 2026, the league announced on Thursday.

The event will take place at the United Center on Saturday, July 25th.

This will be the second time Chicago hosts the game, having done so previously in 2022, although on that occasion the venue was the Wintrust Arena, the main home of the local team, the Chicago Sky.

The United Center, home to the NBA’s Bulls and the NHL’s Blackhawks, offers a much larger capacity, with around 20,900 seats for basketball, compared to the 10,380 of the Wintrust.

Despite this, Wintrust Arena will play an important role in the All-Star festivities, as it will be the venue for the three-point contest and the skills challenge on July 24.

The WNBA Live, the interactive festival for the league’s fans, will be held at McCormick Place in Chicago during All-Star weekend.

The WNBA is thrilled to bring the AT&T WNBA All-Star back to Chicago, which will undoubtedly offer unforgettable competition and community activities.

It is also expected that the event will celebrate the brightest stars in the game and attract WNBA fans from all over the world, showcasing the energy of one of the most iconic basketball cities.

This will be the second consecutive All-Star Game in the Midwest region for the WNBA, after Indiana hosted the event for the first time this year.

The Chicago Sky is excited to welcome the 2026 WNBA All-Star game back to Chicago.

The executive added that they hope to build on the success of the previous game and celebrate the explosive growth of the league, showcasing the biggest stars of the WNBA on a world-class stage.
