Caitlin Clark and Napheesa Collier to lead WNBA All-Star Game

Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark and Minnesota Lynx forward Napheesa Collier are the two fan-voted players and will be captains for the WNBA All-Star Game, the league announced on Sunday.

The game between Team Clark and Team Collier will be held at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, home of the Fever, on July 19 at 8:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on ABC.

Clark received 1,293,526 votes from the fans, while Collier received 1,176,020.

The other eight starters, selected by the fans (50%), the players (25%) and the media (25%), will be announced on Monday during the NBA free agency special, which begins at 7 p.m. ET.

The 12 reserves will be chosen by the league’s coaches and announced via the WNBA’s social and digital platforms on July 6 at 12 p.m. ET.

Clark and Collier will select their All-Star rosters from the starters and reserves during “WNBA Countdown” on July 8 at 7 p.m. ET, before the game between the New York Liberty and the Las Vegas Aces.

This is the second All-Star selection for Clark, in her second season in the WNBA. For Collier, it’s her fifth All-Star selection, who was drafted in 2019.

Clark and Collier won the Rookie of the Year award in their first seasons and were on the All-WNBA first team last year.

Clark averages 18.2 points and 8.9 assists, but has missed the last two Fever games due to a groin injury. Collier leads the WNBA in scoring (24.5 PPG) and is fourth in rebounds (8.4 RPG).

Their teams, Fever and Lynx, will face off on Tuesday for the Commissioner’s Cup championship, which will be played at the Target Center in Minnesota at 8 p.m. ET.
