Portis Re-signs with Bucks: $44M Deal for 3 Years, Option Included

Bobby Portis will continue his career with the Milwaukee Bucks, after agreeing to a three-year, $44 million contract, with a player option for the 2027-28 season. This was revealed by sources close to the negotiation this Sunday.

Portis, who previously declined his player option for $13.4 million, reached an agreement with the Bucks, thanks to the efforts of Mark Bartelstein of Priority Sports.

At 30 years old, Portis has been a key element on the Bucks’ bench for almost five seasons. He was recognized among the top three in the Sixth Man of the Year voting in 2023 and 2024.

Last season, his participation was affected by a 25-game suspension due to a violation of the NBA’s anti-drug policy. This limited him to 49 games, the fewest in his career, with averages of 13.9 points and 8.4 rebounds in 25.4 minutes per game.

Portis is one of the few remaining players from the Bucks’ 2021 championship team.

In the last three seasons, he has accumulated 2,181 points off the bench, ranking third in the NBA in that period, surpassed only by Malik Monk and Naz Reid.
