Taylor Fritz Advances to US Open Quarterfinals

American tennis player Taylor Fritz, ranked number 4, secured his place in the US Open quarterfinals after a solid victory over Tomas Machac.

Fritz dominated the match with scores of 6-4, 6-3, and 6-3 at Louis Armstrong Stadium.

Fritz’s performance has been remarkable, accumulating 25 victories in his last 30 matches, the most in the men’s circuit since the French Open.

The American connected 14 aces and only committed two double faults, winning 91% of the points with his first serve, and did not face any break opportunities.

With this victory, Fritz reaches his seventh quarterfinal in a Grand Slam tournament and the third consecutive in Flushing Meadows.

Fritz will seek to continue his path in the tournament on Tuesday against Novak Djokovic or Jan-Lennard Struff.

This will be the sixth consecutive time that an American tennis player reaches the quarterfinals of a Grand Slam, the longest streak since the 2002 US Open to the 2004 Australian Open.
