Jannik Sinner Cancels Wimbledon Practice Due to Injury

The world’s number one tennis player, Jannik Sinner, was forced to cancel his practice session at Wimbledon this Tuesday due to a right elbow injury suffered on Monday night. Sinner, who advanced to the next round after Grigor Dimitrov withdrew due to a pectoral injury, was scheduled to face Ben Shelton, world number 10, in the quarterfinals on Wednesday. The practice session of the three-time Grand Slam champion was scheduled for 4 p.m. local time at Wimbledon’s Aorangi Park. The All England Club confirmed the cancellation of the session. Sinner injured his elbow after a fall in the first game of Monday night’s match. The Italian lost the first two sets before Dimitrov retired with the score at 2-2 in the third set. The 23-year-old Italian tennis player stated that he planned to undergo an MRI on Tuesday “to see if there’s anything serious.”
