The Dallas Cowboys quarterback, Dak Prescott, will be ready to participate in all activities when the team reports to training camp in Oxnard, California, on July 20.
Prescott, who missed the last nine games of last season due to a hamstring injury that required surgery, participated in all on-field exercises during the offseason program. Although some movements were limited by design, he showed no signs of the injury. Recently, Prescott hosted his annual gathering with his teammates, returning to Lake Oconee in Georgia for a few days of on-field work and off-field sessions with O2X, a performance group made up of former military personnel that helps with stress management and resilience.I’m as healthy as I can be. I’ll be completely ready for camp. I’m healthy. Yes, I think I’ll soon receive official medical clearance, but I’m healthy.

One of the highlights was spending more time with George Pickens, who was acquired in a trade from the Pittsburgh Steelers in May, and CeeDee Lamb, who was not with the team last year due to a contract dispute. It was as beneficial as any other trip.

The retreat helped Prescott and Pickens get to know each other better off the field. Prescott was impressed by Pickens’ knowledge.Being the guy who gives them the ball is exciting because you can watch the training tapes and one of the guys, the ball is in the air and the other is already celebrating. We have to keep growing and make sure that goes in the right direction.

Regarding Lamb, Prescott said his comfort level isn’t comparable to last offseason, when the receiver skipped the program and didn’t sign his new contract until the end of training camp. That knowledge, that participation, shows you a guy who loves football and that, for me, erases many of the things you heard in the past about him. He’s a great guy, he loves his teammates and is very excited about this season. I know he is and I know he’s happy to be in a new place and excited about what he’s going to do for us.

You have to give credit to this last trip we had, but you also have to give credit to the offseason and the lack of contract negotiations. He himself alluded to that in some conversations about how much better he feels. It’s a business. Last year, nothing was personal for anyone, but he wanted to participate. Now you can see what he’s doing for himself, his energy, his leadership, his growth.
