Sinner Wins Against Alcaraz in the ATP Finals Final
The expected end of the “Sincaraz” rivalry for 2025 was won by Jannik Sinner. In a vibrant match, Sinner, currently number two in the world, defeated number one, Carlos Alcaraz, with scores of 7-6 (4) and 7-5. This encounter in the ATP Finals final was the sixth between both players so far this year, all of them played in finals, consolidating his dominance in men’s tennis. Sinner, playing at home and before his Italian audience, defended the title, achieving his second victory of the year over Alcaraz, after having also defeated him in the Wimbledon final. Despite this defeat, Alcaraz still leads the head-to-head record with a score of 10-6.Alcaraz, who had already secured the number one spot at the end of the year, was playing his first final in this tournament that brings together the eight best players of the season. It was an incredible season. Finishing it this way, in front of my Italian fans, is very special for me.

Sinner added that he hopes they have “great battles ahead”. The pair has faced each other in the last three Grand Slam finals. Alcaraz defeated Sinner at the French Open, Sinner took revenge at Wimbledon, and Alcaraz prevailed again at the US Open. This year they also met in the final of the Rome Masters, won by Alcaraz, and in the final of the Cincinnati Masters, where Alcaraz prevailed after Sinner’s withdrawal due to illness. Sinner also won the Australian Open, defeating Alexander Zverev in the final, which means that both he and Alcaraz won two Grand Slam tournaments each this year. In total, Alcaraz has won six Grand Slam titles and Sinner four. Sinner saved a set point in the first set with a powerful second serve that Alcaraz couldn’t return. Then, he took control of the tiebreak with a play that included a drop shot and a lob, culminating in a smash.I am very happy with the level I showed today, with the performance. I played against someone who hasn’t lost an indoor match in two years. I hope they are ready for next year because I will be. I hope we play more finals against you.

Alcaraz received treatment on his right thigh on two occasions and had it bandaged after the first set.I am extremely happy with how I handled the situation.
