Aryna Sabalenka continues her impressive winning streak in Wuhan, securing her place in the WTA 1000 tournament semifinals with a solid victory over Elena Rybakina. The current US Open champion, Sabalenka, demonstrated her superiority by defeating Rybakina with a score of 6-3, 6-3 in a match that lasted 1 hour and 25 minutes. This victory marks Sabalenka’s twentieth consecutive win in Wuhan, where she already won the title in 2018, 2019, and last year. During the match, Sabalenka managed to break Rybakina’s serve three times, solidifying her path to the semifinals for the eleventh time this season. Coco Gauff also secured her place in the semifinals with a resounding 6-3, 6-0 victory against Laura Siegemund. Gauff, who was a finalist at the China Open last week, will face Iga Swiatek or Jasmine Paolini in the next round. In the semifinals, Sabalenka will face Jessica Pegula, who previously defeated Katerina Siniakova in a match that went to three sets. Pegula reaches this instance after defeating Ekaterina Alexandrova and Hailey Baptiste.
