Aryna Sabalenka extends her winning streak in Wuhan
The tennis player Aryna Sabalenka continues to demonstrate her dominance in the Wuhan, China tournament, extending her winning streak to 20 matches. This Friday, Sabalenka achieved a solid victory over Elena Rybakina with a score of 6-3, 6-3, securing her place in the WTA 1000 tournament semifinals.
Sabalenka, who holds the US Open title, had already conquered the Wuhan Open in 2018, 2019 and last year, marking her triumphant return to the Chinese city.
In a match that lasted 1 hour and 25 minutes, the world number one, Sabalenka, broke Rybakina’s serve on three occasions. Jessica Pegula, seeded number six, also managed to advance, overcoming Katerina Siniakova in a match that went to a third set. Pegula won with scores of 2-6, 6-0, 6-3.
Pegula reaches this stage after victories over Ekaterina Alexandrova and Hailey Baptiste.
