Holger Rune Injured and Will Be Out of the Courts for a While
Danish tennis player Holger Rune, currently ranked number 11 in the world, announced that he will be out of the courts for a considerable time due to an Achilles tendon injury that will require surgery.
The injury occurred during the Nordic Open semi-final in Stockholm on Saturday. Rune was forced to retire from the match against Ugo Humbert while leading the match with a score of 6-4, 2-2, showing obvious signs of pain.

In his post, Rune expressed his frustration and sadness over the injury. He described that his Achilles tendon was “completely torn in the proximal part” and that he would undergo surgery next week. In addition, he mentioned the great enjoyment he had on the court during the tournament in Stockholm and regretted not being able to feel that energy for a while.
Rune, 22 years old, has managed to reach the quarterfinals in three Grand Slam tournaments and reached number 4 in the world ranking.
