Holger Rune Injured and Will Be Out of the Courts for a While

Danish tennis player Holger Rune, currently ranked number 11 in the world, announced that he will be out of the courts for a considerable time due to an Achilles tendon injury that will require surgery. The injury occurred during the Nordic Open semi-final in Stockholm on Saturday, where Rune retired from the match against Ugo Humbert while leading 6-4, 2-2. He was seen visibly limping on the court.

It’s going to be a while before I can step on the court again. It’s tough. I felt so much joy on the court in Stockholm and it’s unbearable to think that I won’t feel this energy for a while.
