Holger Rune Injured and Will Be Out of the Courts for a While

Danish tennis player Holger Rune, currently ranked number 11 in the world, announced that he will be out of the courts for a while due to an Achilles tendon injury that will require surgery. The injury occurred during the Nordic Open semifinals in Stockholm on Saturday, where Rune retired from the match against Ugo Humbert while leading 6-4, 2-2. He was seen visibly limping on the court, showing signs of pain.

It’s going to be a while before I can step on the court again. It’s tough. I had so much joy on the court in Stockholm and it’s unbearable to think that I won’t feel this energy for a while.
