Emma Raducanu faces physical problems again and falls in the first round of the Ningbo Open. The British tennis player, who had already withdrawn from her first match in Wuhan due to dizziness, showed signs of exhaustion after winning the first set against China’s Zhu Lin. The match ended with a score of 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 in favor of Zhu. Even though the temperatures were lower than the previous week, Raducanu looked visibly fatigued at the start of the second set and requested medical assistance after seven games. In the decisive set, the 2021 US Open champion required medical attention again, this time for back problems, and finished the match with difficulties.

Raducanu did not have the presence of her coach, Francisco Roig, and was assisted by Alexis Canter and the physical trainer Daniel Pohl. Canter encouraged Raducanu, who managed to stay ahead in the first set despite her frustration. However, in the second set, Zhu took the lead, surpassing Raducanu. Raducanu managed to tie the score in the second set after consulting with the doctor, but lost the set in the tenth game. After a break, her back problem resurfaced, which led her to request medical assistance again in the third set. Although he decided not to retire, his mobility was limited and the match concluded quickly.
