Swiatek offered resistance in the second set, coming close to a break, but failed to capitalize on any opportunities. It was Pegula who got a break opportunity at 5-5, taking advantage of it with a powerful cross-court forehand. Pegula held her serve to seal her second grass-court title, following her victory in Berlin the previous year.
